Energy Efficiency
Why does a company that sells electricity pay its customers to use less?
The answer is simple – It helps both of us save money.
The more efficient our consumers are, the more efficient the co-op will be. In the long term, all consumers receive the benefits of improved system efficiency. It all relates to leveling out the demand for electricity, by decreasing the peaks (when the demand for electricity is greatest) and raising the valleys (when demand for electricity is lowest).
Energy Audits
The goal of Mitchell EMC’s audit program is to help you save money by identifying areas where your home’s energy efficiency can be improved. Free In–Home Energy Audits are conducted for residential members who wish to know more about their energy consumption.
Representatives are trained to survey facilities and make recommendations to help keep energy costs down. Following a thorough inspection of your home, they will suggest ways to improve the energy efficiency of your home.
Our energy assistance guidance can help you decide which measures will help you the most, including the following:
- Caulking and weather stripping
- Additional insulation
- Storm windows and doors
- A more efficient heating system
- An efficient water heating system
