Disconnect OR TRANSFER Service

To Disconnect Service:

Disconnects may be processed in person at Mitchell EMC's office or over the phone at 1-800-479-6034. You will be asked to provide the following:

  • Proof of identification
  • Date of Disconnect
  • Forwarding address for forwarding of any outstanding bill and/or return of deposit.

There is no charge for disconnecting service. Your meter will be read-out on the disconnect date and any remaining energy charges will appear on your final bill. Please make sure we have a correct forwarding address for any future payments due to you and for proper processing of your final bill.

To Transfer Service:

If you are applying to have service transferred into your name, please visit any Mitchell EMC Office or contact Mitchell EMC’s Customer Service Department at 1-800-479-6034. Be prepared to provide us with the following information:

  • Proof of identification
  • Physical Location of the Service
  • Mailing Address
  • Telephone Number

If we are unable to verify the location of the service from the physical address, we may need the previous occupant’s name or a meter number.
